FOSCHI HT 46
Gabriel · 2026
Gabriel is a 46-foot sailing yacht developed by OYA Studio and Alessandro Vismara and built by Cantieri Navali Foschi. Conceived as a bespoke yacht, the project brings together contemporary naval architecture, traditional craftsmanship and electric propulsion.
Foschi is an historic shipyard based in Cesenatico and Gabriel marks a new chapter: its first sailing yacht built entirely in wood, combining decades of boatbuilding experience with a new design vision.
PROJECT
The yacht features an innovative electric propulsion system with twin pods, also capable of hydrogeneration to recover energy while sailing. Designed around onboard comfort, this system enables an exceptionally quiet experience under both motor power and motor-sailing, enhancing the pleasure of life on board.
DESIGN APPROACH
The project combines the character of a traditional wooden yacht with a high-tech approach to onboard comfort. The sail plan features three headsails set on torsional cables with electric furling systems, working in combination with a fully battened mainsail to deliver versatile sail configurations and ease of handling. Below deck, a carefully designed layout accommodates three cabins and two bathrooms, creating a comfortable environment for extended cruise on board.
GENERAL ARRANGEMENT
Gabriel is built using a combination of selected woods, including kaya, sapele and okoumé, integrated with resins and carbon-fibre reinforcement. This construction approach brings together the warmth and authenticity of wood with contemporary composite techniques.
The cork deck adds a natural finish underfoot, reinforcing the yacht's distinctive material palette. Built by skilled craftsmen over 15 months, Gabriel reflects the value of specialist boatbuilding knowledge applied to a fully custom project.
