PROJECT

NAB 12.50 is a fast cruiser conceived to combine high sailing performance, efficient naval architecture and the comfort required for family cruising.

OYA Studio developed the project from the initial concept through the complete executive design, from naval architecture and general arrangement to the detailed technical development of the yacht.

DESIGN APPROACH

The NAB 12.50 was conceived around the idea of achieving performance through efficient geometry, low weight and functional design.

The hull combines an ocean-racing inspired approach with the comfort and usability required for family cruising. Particular attention was given to weight optimisation, interior volumes and the relationship between the hull geometry and the overall layout.

The same philosophy extends to the construction, combining natural materials and modern technology to achieve a lightweight and efficient yacht.

GENERAL ARRANGEMENT

The interior layout was developed to maximise the use of the available volume while maintaining a clear separation between living areas, technical spaces and storage.

The arrangement combines the comfort required for family cruising with the functional approach of a performance-oriented yacht, creating efficient and well-connected spaces throughout the boat.

CONSTRUCTION

The NAB 12.50 was built in wood, reinforced with linen fibres and modern composite technology to achieve a lightweight and efficient structure.

Particular attention was given to weight optimisation and structural efficiency. The internal structures are conceived for a dual purpose: they reinforce the hull and deck while becoming an integral part of the furniture. Structural layout defines and separates the different spaces on board.

The result is a lightweight and coherent interior where structure, furniture and spatial organisation are directly integrated.
